One day while in high school, Regis Murphy, Jr. was caught by his teacher daydreaming, staring out the window of the classroom.
Meaning to possibly make an example of him to the rest of the class, the nun chastised him, asking, “what are you going to do with your life?”
Turning the tables, and setting himself as an example for others in a different way than the teacher expected, Regis replied seriously, “I want to do the things other men read about.”
And so he has.
Through the 1950s he survived an Irish-Catholic upbringing in Pittsburgh, PA. In the 1960s he survived the jungles of Vietnam as a US Army Ranger. In the years since then he has been an extraordinary leader in both the military and private industry. He currently provides life coaching and is active as a counselor, writer, and consultant. Regis makes the ‘good side’ of Louisiana his home and is a member of several social and fraternal organizations.
