One Eyed Fat Old Men

Here are the grandfathers you never would have imagined existed, but you’ll be glad to know they do!  And they’re everywhere!

From the book:  To a man, they had been shot, stabbed, blown up and put back together physically, spiritually, and/or emotionally at least once in their lives.  Children of the Cold War and youth of Vietnam, they had all experienced the best and worst that life had to offer during the last half of the twentieth century.  Yet these ‘one eyed fat old men’ often continue to live and search for ways to make things better for their children and American society as a whole.  That is, if adventure doesn’t come to them first.  Most of the time, that is just what happens.  It seems that life guides them into situations where only they are available to accept the challenge.

Because they have the experience, education, training, time, money, and, most importantly, the balls to do something to make wrongs right, they have become quite often the most viable solution to some of our most critical social ills.  With no political agenda or affiliation their loyalty is first and foremost to each other.
